Go West Young Man - AGES [Pop Rock]

AGES cover art

Go West Young Man are easily one of the most creative and one of the most fun to listen to groups in the world of music. A rather interesting blend of rock, indie, groove, and soul music all in one brilliant pop rock album.

What makes AGES such an amazing album is just how damn catchy every little thing is, produced to be slick and smooth through each melody and bassline the band easily goes full force with their sound in the most comfortable of ways. Catchy pop rock riffs with groovy basslines and catchy skip drums the band create unforgettable hooks and complement the lead vocalist's blend of rock and soul with his clear cut, energetic vocals. This is the kind of album where trying to say why it's so good can seem kinda clumsy, as the last paragraph suggests. It's one you have to hear to believe and one you should be hearing as soon as possible.

You can stream, download, or buy AGES here. If you liked this album, considering dropping some money in the band's direction to support any and all future projects, or maybe even share them with your friends. A little support and a little word of mouth goes a long way! <3

Sullen Ray - BLUE MINOR [Dream Pop/Shoegaze]

You know what's awesome? Dream pop, that's what. With Sullen Ray's debut in the PRIMARY TRILOGY, BLUE MINOR, this band captures the feelings of late 90's Dream Pop and Shoegaze while giving it a unique, psychedelic twist of their own. Fronted by vocalists Seth Eubanks and Dee Clement, both members provide mixtures of haunting distorted melodies and fun pop sounds.

BLUE MINOR is a hauntingly beautiful piece. Backed by smooth instrumentals and beautiful vocal performances to the beat of breath taking lyrics, it's an album that anyone with a sweet tooth for Shoegaze or Dream Pop should check out immediately. If BLUE MINOR has a great start like this one, then RED MINOR and YELLOW MINOR are easily two albums worth keeping on your radar.

Guest House - I'll Get Over It I Guess [Emo]

For better or for worse the emo revival scene is clearly one that is going to stay around for a while. With bands like Prawn, The World Is A Beautiful Place, and Empire! Empire! leading the scene in full force it's probably going to be something that will be sticking around for a long time. Now Guest House on the other hand are pretty unique for the scene in their own right. While many bands in the scene try to stick with the more depressive tones that the previous scene had, Guest House goes out of the way with surprisingly upbeat and groovy music with almost happy lyrics.

A surprisingly fun EP to listen to, Guest House flawlessly blends catchy song writing with more melancholy, reminiscent lyrics in the short 11 minute run time of the EP. Tracks like Arbor Day and Letting Go incorporate the exciting blends of "woahs" with screams and warm guitar riffing that makes the tracks contagious. While final track Brave throws in a smooth post-rock-esque melody with pretty powerful lyrics. Overall it's an EP that shows the promises of a band that can go on to make some incredibly unforgettable music, and here's to hoping that's where Guest House goes.

You can stream, buy, or download I'll Get Over It I Guess here. If you enjoyed this EP consider dropping some money in the band's way to support any and all upcoming projects, or even share the band with your friends. A little support and a little word of mouth goes a long way! <3

Brighter Brightest - ARROW [Pop Punk]

For the past few years pop punk has become quite the popular genre in the underground scene. With groups like Neck Deep, Real Friends, Say Anything, and The Wonder Years all respectively gaining some form of mainstream recognition through their dabbles in the scene it's no surprise there will be a large influx of no namers taking their shot at the genre. With that said that is where the Canadian pop punk group Brighter Brightest comes in with their debut EP Arrow.

Brighter Brightest capture the essences of the pop punk genre in their six track EP. While it's not the one to take any big risks with it's material, it's current material is enough to please any fan of the genre looking for something new to digest in their collection. Filled with quick and happy riffs and energetic hooks this EP is one worth checking out.

You can stream, download, or buy this EP here. If you like Arrow consider throwing some money in the artist's direction to support any and all upcoming projects, or share the album with your friends. A little support and a little word of mouth goes a long way! <3

Haunted Candy Shop - Pray For A Light To Come In [Post-Rock]

Interestingly enough, Haunted Candy Shop were actually one of the first groups to ever release on Bandcamp back when it launched in 2008. As they had the pleasure of being one of the first 50 artists to ever use the platform, I thought it would be worth sharing their one and only album Pray For A Light.

The album mixes atmosphere with post rock, with long sections of droning guitar sections with heavy and brooding crescendos of heavy drumming, guitar riffs, frantic piano sections, and haunting violin leads. Tie that in with the soft vocals from Damien Garcia and you have yourself an excellent atmospheric record.

You can stream, buy, or download Pray For A Light here. If you liked this record consider dropping some money in the artists way to support any and all future projects, or share this album with your friends. A little word of mouth and a little support goes a long way! <3

Rabbit Junk - Pop That Pretty Thirty [Hardclash]

Pop That Pretty Thirty cover art

If Mystery Skulls and Mindless Self Indulgence had a baby there is no doubt in my mind it would sound like electronic hardcore duo Rabbit Junk. A duo formed by former The Shizit vocalist JP Anderson and later introducing female vocalist Jennifer Bernert. The duo mixes sounds of hardcore, hip hop, metal, electronic, and rock into a style that JP can only call "hardclash." While the duo had released numerous albums and EP's together they would fall into an almost defunct cycle of no releases and a lot of hush-hush talk after their 2010 release. Only teasing one or two singles every year onwards. With Pop That Pretty Thirty the duo has returned with a five track EP filled with the same power and energy that established the group as who they are years prior.

With four new singles and a mash-up Pop That Pretty Thirty continue onward with their cycle of madness in a fresh and hard hitting electro rock record. While lead single Pop That Pretty Thirty showcases Jennifer's rapid punk flow through themes of police state, following tracks Precipice and IDONTGIVEAFUCK throw JP into the spotlight as he spits through raps and screams through hardcore leads. Each track on this EP is great in their own rights and are downright crazy and catchy enough to get anyone pulled in by the first track. If you're into electronic music or hardcore music of any kind, then this EP is right up your alley.

You can download, stream, or buy this group's EP on their page here. If you liked this EP consider dropping some money in the artists direction to help support any and all upcoming projects, or maybe even share them with your friends. A little support and a little word of mouth goes a long way! <3
